Fun Times at the lake

Time for some Water Sports!
I bet you guessed that though since the title is "Fun Times at the lake"...
Here we start with a photo of my feet in the early morning... the water is about 80 degrees and the best part is how clear it is! You would definitely be able to see if a Musky were heading up to eat your toes. (Maybe that would be worse than not seeing though??) The water is quite low this year so if you moved to the right about 5 feet you would be able to dive straight into deep water - from standing on the beach! Too cool! We would like to see the water come up some though... Lukie enjoying a nice afternoon swim.

Emma and one of the girls jumping off the dock and paddling around.
Emma floating about...

Siblings relaxing on the waves... (and yes, they have both a life jacket on and a life preserver...) Actually, we make most all of the kids wear life jackets when on the dock. The floatees are just for fun and when jumping off the dock, they do a great job of keeping the head above the water.
We had a couple fun hauls around the island on the paddle boat!

Let's throw this in before we forget... Chilly days we were inside watching the tube (Air Buddies and Snow Buddies were the hits of the trip) or dancing away... A few favorites were Macarena, Chicken Dance, Hands Up, YMCA... one of those times you wished you had a working video camera. ATV Rides, of course! Through the forest... Duck down! Watch out for those trees!

Practicing - Dry fishing - on land before we do the real thing... Luke had quite a wrist on him. The fly went in the tallest tree, on the roof, behind him into the garage... He got the hang of it after a bit!
Emma giving fishing a go from the dock... Poppa Tom helping Emma reel in the big one...

Look at that fish! It's huge! Can anyone say 12 inch plus large mouth bass?

Luke and Poppa T fishing along the shore... one early morning. Luke caught one while dock fishing!

Nice one, Tooks!

Waterski Show, Baby! (It was quite hot that night!)The Pyramid (I think they had already lost a few skiers).

Maybe this is the barefooters?? I think one is attached to another...

And this is an oldie but goodie... I remember getting to "drive" down the dirt road when we visited the lake! So we threw Luke in the driver's seat and let him go to town (or away from the town and other cars but no matter...)
And here is his new shirt... Star Wars anything and Lukes is all over it! Recently he has been drooling over Star Wars sheets... Is this kid cute or what? This was a big day for the boy! (Well, it probably wasn't this day - notice hats and long sleeves! It was a cool 50 some degrees!) Anyway, he learned how to ride a bike and without training wheels to boot! Woohoo! A second cousin asked him what he thought his dad's face would look like once he saw Luke's new skill and Luke replied, "His smile will go up to his eyes!". I think my boy is going to be a writer.
Emma practicing on her bike without training wheels too!

More of our trip coming soon...
